No story about the Ellis family would be complete without Jake. Jake became an Ellis almost five years ago: Ashley got an engagement ring, and Matt got a dog. Unfortunately for Matt, Ashley sort of got the ring and the dog, as Jake is a little bit of a Momma's Boy. Jake is the perfect dog. When we say our dog is perfect, we mean perfect. He proved just how perfect he was as soon as Connor came home from the hospital. At first, Jake was scared of the car seat and the squealing creature in it. He now licks Connor's face, cleans his toes and fingers for him, and sleeps next to him on the floor while he plays. I think they'll someday be best friends.
