Two Years of Fun!

It's so hard to believe that this time two years ago Connor was just preparing to enter the world.  While it seems impossible that two years has already flown by, it is also really difficult to remember life before he arrived.  From 9 pounds to 30 pounds, it's been a great adventure and we can't wait for the next year!

This week we've been having some difficulty at bed time as Connor has taken up Olympic Crib Vaulting.  He is quite the expert - he can seamlessly lift his leg over the side of the crib, hold on with both arms and slide down the outside of the crib, landing on his feet.  The good news is that we didn't really have to worry about him hurting himself falling out of the crib.  The bad news is that he hadn't mastered the art of climbing back in.  We decided it would be much easier to make the change to the "big boy bed" and take the front of the crib off.  Bedtime is still unpleasant, but at least he has learned that, after he has a little fit and cries for a few minutes, he can climb safely back into his bed.

He's also kept us quite entertained with some "colorful" language.  Everything is "awful" (even if it is really awesome) and sometimes a big "dammit" is in order (like when you trip over a toy you left on the floor or really anytime you want to emphasize what you're saying and get the adults to pay attention.  I thank my dad and Connor's own father for the language lessons, even though both of them thing awful and dammit are for amateurs :)

This weekend we'll celebrate the big boy's birthday with a trip to the river and look forward to a birthday party with family next weekend!

"It's hot. Conna wear sunglasses!"

Almost time for a boat ride!
No doubt about it, Connor's a lefty like Mommy!

Hanging out with Daddy!
